Her Story:
Amani na Uhuru means Peace and Freedom in Swahili. This piece was inspired Wangari Maathai, Kenya's renowned social and politicla activist. Wangari was the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Amongst her many achievements she founded the Green Belt Movement in 1977, that has since planted over 51 million trees.
