PRELUDE

It is still the beginning.

This collection began with an exploration of drawing on a different medium to our white standard. I chose black. I inverted everything I knew about drawing, inverted the foundations, inverted my whole perspective, and looked for the colours in black. There they were infront of me. I had been too influenced by the light. Its illusions sowed seeds of fear. So I inverted my fear and there in the deepest most natural darkness, I found colours bouncing, full of life, dancing with rhythm.

I found comfort.

I found our mothers and our mothers' mothers,

 they told me the secrets that bring life to the light of day:
